To assure the safety of our food stream, strict adherence
to sanitation and food safety guidelines is required.
These guidelines are issued and monitored by the Kellogg
corporate office as well as by local and federal
governing agencies.
In this role as Sanitation/Food Safety Resource your
responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
a) assuring the production facility complies with these
regulations.
b) the emergence of allergen focus and concerns of food
safety/security have increased the responsibilities of
the position.
c) Serve as support and back-up to the facilitys
Certified Pest Control Applicator and Pesticide trainer:
the responsibilities include directing hourly Pest
Control Specialties to assure compliance to FDA
regulations.
You report to and act in an advisory role and backup to
the QA Manager. You work as a peer with the Quality
Business Unit Leader and a 2nd Food Safety/sanitation
resource.
In this role you provide daily direction to the following
hourly employees:
a) 4 hourly Registered Pesticide technicians
b) 2 warehouse quality hold auditors
c) 3 food review/janitorial (1/shift)
d) 1 moisture technician
e) 1.5 lights & filter changer
f) 3 fire protection plant specialties (1/shift)
You will also serve in an advisory role to the
facilitys Business Unit Leaders and Business Unit
Managers (in operations, maintenance, and the warehouse).
Daily contact with these functions facilitates the
communications needed to ensure quality standards are met
in all departments.
You share responsibility in managing the following
budgets:
a) Operations Admin
b) QA
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree is
required.
Food Science Degree preferred
Candidate must possess a strong working knowledge in
quality science, chemistry, applied math, statistical
techniques, sanitation, food processing.
A minimum of three years experience working in
related areas such as: developing, implementing, or
overseeing quality systems; monitoring and enforcing
quality standards; facilitating relationships with
customers and representatives of regulatory agencies;
coordinating audits of quality systems with appropriate
follow-up, etc.
The ability to supervise technical and non-technical
people is required.
Knowledge of pest control habits and ability to identify
pests (rodents, insects, etc) is required.
Three years supervisory experience required.
Three years food manufacturing environment experience
required
Must be comfortable communicating with various levels of
authority. Need to be able to convey information in
laymans terms as well as technical terms to various
sources.
Require the ability to handle opposing priorities within
and between departments with the objective of reaching
mutually acceptable resolutions (example - when
production and/or safety goals or initiatives conflict
with quality/food safety goals or initiatives).
Primary work completed on first shift however, must have
the ability to support a 24/7 operation. Adaptable
schedule required.
Certification in Pesticide Application upon hiring is
preferred, required afterwards.
Preferred candidates possess a strong working knowledge
of Kellogg quality programs
Working knowledge of auditing systems preferred.
