JOB DESCRIPTION: The
Senior Director, Marketing for Avonex will report
directly to the Vice President, Marketing for US
Neurology. The successful candidate will be responsible
for leading all marketing activities for the brand, as
well as leading and developing a brand team.
Specific responsibilities for the Senior Director,
Marketing for Avonex will include:
. Achieving brand revenue and market share targets
. Overseeing the development and implementation of
strategic and tactical brand marketing plans
. Cultivating and maintaining relationships with thought
leaders, key customers and professional organizations
. Working in close conjunction with the Avonex brand team
and the overall US Neurology business more broadly to
position the brand effectively
. Championing the brand throughout the company
. Establishing a team environment conducive to
achievement
. Creating individual coaching and development plans for
all direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS: The
successful candidate will be an experienced individual
with a strong track record of commercial success in the
pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. He/she must
have the proven ability to provide strategic brand
management, vision and direction within a fast moving,
challenging and energetic commercial environment.
The successful candidate will be a credible, dynamic and
creative professional with the energy and vision to lead
a successful brand. The ideal candidate will thrive on
challenge. The successful candidate will be highly
collaborative, perceptive, an analytical problem solver,
and exhibit strategic and innovative agility. The
successful candidate will be someone who manifests trust,
and is known for his/her ethics and integrity, and works
successfully in a team environment. He/she will possess
excellent communication skills and a strong personal
presence. Importantly, the successful candidate will put
patients first and have a significant respect for
science.
Required qualifications include:
. 12+ years of commercial experience in the
pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
. Experience in specialty markets
. Proven record of in-line marketing success despite
highly competitive marketplace
. Proven record of driving brand growth
. Proven record of leading and developing people
. Biologics experience is preferred, though not required
. Sales experience is preferred, though not required
