JOB DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Biofuels Technology Manager in Brazil as part of the global technology team, your main responsibilities will be:

•Act as local technology specialist for sugarcane conversion technology.

•Identify key technology opportunities for BP and its JV’s in the biofuels industry, mainly focused on conversion of sugarcane to biofuels, sugar and electricity, including proven and emerging technologies.

•Conceive and propose process improvement projects using the technologies above mentioned, working in cooperation with BP’s technology teams, JV’s and suppliers.

•Provide technical expertise and support during select, define, execute and operate.

•Liaison between BP and strategic partners in the development of BP technology strategy for sugarcane.

•Provide BP advanced biofuels technology team with information and practicalities regarding the sugarcane industry, contributing to the development of of BP’s advanced biofuels technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•The candidate must be a graduate in Chemical Engineering or.

•Masters degree mandatory.

•Fluency in English is mandatory.

•Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory.

•At least 10 yrs experience in sugar cane or petrochemical industry.

•Track record on developing technology projects in partnership with industrial and academic stakeholders.

•Operational experience in pilot and/or commercial facilities, including plant start-up.

•Modeling skills (aspen and excel essential, economic advantageous.

•Experience in project management and leadership within a team.

•Strong analytical skills.

•Good skills as trainer/coach to disseminate applied knowledge.

•Fully understanding of technology scale up and commercialization, including process design and engineering requirements, process control and optimization.

•Good network with external centers of scientific excellence.
