JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking to add an individual who can build a global, best in class organization responsible for the Biogen Idec SharePoint environment and who can energize and ignite a team to deliver that vision.

This individual will have a proven track record of managing a global SharePoint environment, strong sense of commitment, be highly service-delivery oriented, and skilled at continuous improvement methodologies. They will have a strong SharePoint background and experience driving the implementation of SharePoint 2010 and FAST Search for a global biopharmaceutical company. They will be comfortable delivering projects and services via a combination of internal, contract, and outsourced capabilities. Strong management skills and the ability to manage teams beyond their subject matter expertise are required.

• Serves as the Service Owner for the SharePoint 2010 and FAST Search platforms.

• Accountable for the overall support and health of the SharePoint environment, including availability, performance, capacity planning, maintenance, and lifecycle planning.

• Responsible for maintaining the overall SharePoint Governance Plan.

• Collaborates with the Business Information Management (BIM) and IT Development communities to align SharePoint best-practices with business and technical requirements.

• Provide technical leadership to ensure best practices, standards, and security implementation strategies are followed.

• Staff management, including the sourcing of talent, performance management, goals alignment, and personal development.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10+ years of IT experience in a managerial role of similar size, scope, and responsibility

• 5+ years hands-on experience leveraging Microsoft SharePoint Server products and platforms (Versions 2007 and 2010) and Windows SharePoint Services in the analysis, administration, development, implementation, and support of large, complex, Enterprise-level solutions.

• Experience developing/creating SharePoint workflows, forms, and sites with Windows SharePoint Services, MOSS, MS-OFFICE tools, .NET, Visual Studio, SQL-Server.

• Strong OOD/OOP skills and experience applying modern design patterns.

Key Knowledge

• Ability to work and communicate directly with customers to ensure that development/platform team expectations are being met.

• Project management experience leading an application development effort.

• Demonstrated success leading small to medium sized technical teams, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong business and financial acumen. Comfortable with analytical and quantitative analysis to justify technical recommendations.

• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and who is able to communicate SharePoint-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences.
