AUIS is Iraq’s only non-pro?t, independent, American-Style university. Founded in 2007, the university now boasts 850 students in its undergraduate and preparatory programs on a campus covering over 400 acres in the safe and tolerant Kurdistan Region of Iraq. AUIS offers undergraduate degrees in Business Administration, Engineering, English, Information Technology, and International Studies to students from all backgrounds across Iraq.  All instruction is in English and the teaching faculty — predominantly Americans — have been educated in North American or Western European institutions.

Job Requirements: 

The American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) is seeking a Manager of Lab and Science Resources to oversee the development and maintenance of newly-constructed general science laboratories, which will be used for teaching introductory science courses.

Responsibilities include procurement of supplies, continuous review of the laboratory curriculum, design of new laboratory experiments and demonstrations, day-to-day supervision of labs and scientific resources, lab instruction, and the grading of laboratory notebooks. Possible course instruction, as needed, is preferred.

AUIS, under the academic guidance of the University of Colorado, has recently initiated a general engineering program and will soon add degree programs in mechanical and petroleum engineering. To this end, depending on qualifications and performance of the successful candidate, the above position may be expanded to include design and supervision of engineering labs. 

Job Qualifications: 

Applicants should have solid academic credentials and proven experience in managing science laboratories.
