JOB DESCRIPTION:
Relationship Development
Manager (RDM) helps identify, establish and maintain
partnerships with important government and campaign
entities and relevant third parties that help increase
the awareness, use, and processing volumes of PayPal
services. Target partners include Federal, State, and
local government agencies, political campaigns,
associations, consultants, and third party providers of
services to these entities. This position will report to
the Channel Segment Manager and will have a significant
impact on the short-term and long-term perception and
performance of PayPal?s services in this segment. The
long-term goal is to have all government entities and
campaigns using PayPal services, and accepting PayPal as
a method of payment.
Strong presentation skills (oral and written) ? The RDM
will present extensively by phone, by webinar, and in
person to small and large groups; thus excellent
communication skills and the ability to connect with a
variety of audiences and political view points.
Responsibilities:
Identifying a list of targeted new partnership
opportunities, developing plans for establishing new
partnerships, presenting PayPal services, formalizing the
partnership with a partnership agreement, statement of
work, or otherwise, and then owning the partnership.
Owning a designated set of existing partner accounts,
including:
day-to-day issue resolution and escalation
annual and quarterly event and account planning
internal and external account reviews of strengths,
weaknesses, challenges and opportunities
regular tracking and reporting of activity and results
development and execution of partner expansion plans to
grow the relationship and grow PayPal?s business
Partnering with PayPal Government Relations Department to
coordinate plans and activities (and goals as
appropriate), leverage mutual contacts, events and
successes, and provide PayPal product support and
customer service escalation for VIPs and other
circumstances identified by Government Relations.
Staying current on PayPal, eBay, Government and Political
trends, events and strategies.
Attending industry and association meetings, conventions
and events to promote PayPal. Help develop annual event
calendar for Public Sector promotions and events.
Providing product management groups and Channel
Management recommendations on required product, process
and service enhancements needed to better serve and grow
the Public Sector business.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree and five
years work experience in a related field, preferably with
a political campaign, campaign service provider, or other
related government service
Experience with outside sales or active relationship
development and expansion
Payment industry experience helpful, previous use of
PayPal, and eBay buying or selling experience helpful
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership
skills
Independent, goal-oriented, self-starter with excellent
follow-through
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced
and ever-changing environment
20-40% travel required; Office in Washington, D.C.
